Hi

yes ADHD can affect your school work etc

it would be a good idea if you ask your mom to arrange for more testing

if you do have ADHD then the school can give you what is known as an IEP to allow you extra accommodations to help in those areas where you need it

some people find that taking fishoil supplements (or flaxseed oil if sensitive to fishoil) can be helpful as the Omega3 seems to help a lot. I have also read some studies on Borage Oil supplements being helpful for ADHD

Also try keeping your sugar intake low, especially with "diet" sodas and stuff that has aspartame/nutrasweet in it, as it seems to make ADHD worse, as does artificial food dye

some people find help from medications for ADHD, while others seem to be able to manage it just fine with careful diet and supplements, along with special ed help at school

Hope you will talk to your mom and school counselor soon :)

I completely agree with Chemar about ADHD affecting your school work and supplementing your diet with fish oil capsules. You and your parents should be consulting with the school. I live in Canada and children with learning disabilities get to study with special aides who assist them with their learning challeges.

I recently saw a documentary done in Canada about a school located on an Indian reservation. There are many learning and behavioral problems there, due to their parents substance abuse problems. So this teacher did a year long experiment where she made all the kids get involved in a regular exercise program within the school. She was astounded to find, that every single child improved on some way academically and behaviorally - some very dramatically. Experts now know that regular cardio-vascular exercise builds new neuro transmitters in your brain. So I recommend for you to start exercising at least 5 days a week and eat very healthy. You have to push yourself and try oyur best to stay focused. Best of luck,

Bella

I think it would be important to go for more testing too. You seem to be doing well, but you can ask your teachers for help and for more clarification.

Can you talk to your parents as well about it?

Best,

Clyde
