I am learning disturbing things about my religions internal system. My first hand experience is that the leaders are in a position to harm emotionally and mentally simply by stating any action of a member is a scriptural violation. Thus untrue, even defamatory accusations and wrongful sanctioning, come under ecclsiastical privilege, so this abuse of power continues with impunity. And most are never held accountable. How can I feel safe when my self and many others have been victimized this way? oh and walking away requires that you suffer character assasination as an antichrist, and imoral person worthy of shunning and death. I have been apart of this organization for over 20 years, given what I know it is very hard and is a deeply traumatizing experience.
