I have been on Clonazepam .5mg 3x a day for 2 weeks,but Dr. has switched me to Ativan 1mg. 2x a day.Will I have any problems switching?

I was on Ativan for years before they gave me the Clonazepam a couple of weeks ago.I couldn't take the Clonazepam because it because it made me feel like a zombie.Couldn't do anything! Horrible fatigue.

Hi there MCochs,

You may have a tiny bit of problem as far as getting used to a new medication, and getting off of a previous one, but I really don't see much of a problem.

The only thing, other than the actual medications changing--the medication dosage has went down .5 mg.

Best,

Clyde

Thanks for answering my post,Clyde.

Actually, this whole thing is really confusing and messed up!

Went to the Ativan without a problem, but after the clonazepam,it just doesn't seem to work as well.

Maybe I was taking the clonazepam too close together .05mg. every 8 hours.

I really thought it worked better for the anxiety now that I can compare the two, just made me tired.

Wonder if I can switch back to the Clonazepam? My Dr. isn't a help at all with this.

I have a lot of very stressful things going on in my life right now and just want to take what helps the most.Everything has it's pros & cons, just can't decide a darn thing.

Ativan gives me a more relaxed but kind of depressed feeling. Clonazepam made me feel better, but tired.

I'm anxious now about which one of these to take & stay with.

Any ideas. Is 0.5mg. clonazepam every 8 hrs too frequent?

Thanks,

mcochs
