Im having some issues around girls that i really like. Im fine with them until i really start liking them or we have a semi intimate experience (cuddling or being really close). I get really nauseous when I think about them, and even worse when im around them. Iv even driven myself to vomit many times and iv stopped eating when i feel this way. I do take anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medicine called Lexapro (10mg), but it isnt helping. This starts to happen every time I start getting really close to a girl and I really need help.

you need to watch dukes of hazard! everytime bo gets around his old girlfriend he gets nautious and faints. dont fear. a lot of guys! and girls! experience this effect when they get nervous or upset. i promise over time it will go away. when i was pregnant everytime my boyfriend and i were intimate, afterwards i would through up. i also took lexapro. it was from being so stressed out and the anti deppressent didnt help. i only felt better after i weined myself away from the medicine and learned how to control myself. and alot of that was immaturity. not to be rude. im not telling you to stop your medicine by any means !!! i consulted my doctor first. but i think your "condition" is just puppy love and will fade with matturity. you are the only one that has ultimate control over your actions. not any medicine. the way your acting is all in you mind and your thoughts can often control how your body reacts to things or even cause a reaction-or vommiting! like if i think about someone close to me that has died... eventually i will begin to get sad and start crying. if you upset yourself and make yourself nervous enough and let your mind run free wilth overwhelming fear.. you can make yourself sick. control your thoughts and your mind and your behaviors will follow.

god bless

I agree, a person can get themselves so worked up and make themselves vomit. It sounds like you have social anxiety and this responds well to behavior therapy and self help techniques. You should learn relaxation exercies and deep breathing. It also a maturity thing like Rockinmom said - in time it'll go away. The more you put yourself out there, the more you'll get used to it. Don't let the feelings intimidate you and make you retreat. When you feel those feelings, take some slow deep breathes and tell yourself you'll be okay.

There's a saying that 'the stomach is the window to our soul' and it's true. You know what's good for nausea - natural ginger, you can buy it in the vitamin section or slice and boil a 1 inch piece and drink it like tea. Enjoy your life and don't listen to the insecurities in your mind. TC :) Bella
