I've always been a rather shy individual. I find it difficult to communicate with others, simply because it's so hard to find things to talk about, except when I'm with more or less compatible friends. Occasionally I find myself unable to offer any opinion or say what I think because it seems I have little or nothing to say that is wise, worthwhile or legitimate. Partially I fear humiliating myself, but then at times my head really IS empty on some reason. Not a single thought comes to my head. What's wrong with me and how to deal with this negative aspect?

I get social anxiety too. And yes, my brain gets totally empty. Why? Because it's super busy monitoring what I say and my surroundings.

There's nothing wrong with you. You're just going through a stage of social anxiety. There're lots of ways to deal with this. Have you tried seeing a therapist?

It could be social anxiety, shyness or some other things.

It sounds as if you have low self-esteem and feel that no one wants to hear what you say. Well, of course, that is not true, but you have to open up some in order for others to open up to you.

I know it is hard, but just start it out one person, or one group at a time.

Best,

Clyde
