I have a tendency of when someone gets angry at me or whatever turning the anger I feel against myself and doing things to myself like picking scabs and stuff like that, I usualy only do that when stressed. what could be causing this?

It's used as a distraction to sooth your stress levels. Animals do the same thing when they're engaged in conflict. They might start eating or grooming themselves (which is what you're doing). Ethologists term it "displacement activity." Try dealing with the underlying stress and see if that helps. You could tell the person that getting angry at you to talk calmly and try to communicate better, for example.
