Well maby some of you on here may remember my last post, but I'm 17 and have some issues. I'm not really suicidal (was in the past) diagnosed as depressed at 14 and it went away at 15, gut I felt weird while on anti depressents and even afyer going off the weirdness stayed. I feel like I'm on ecstasy or something in the morning, every morning, loving everything and everyone, as the day drags on, I get depressed and just wanna cry. Also, my violence and self harm issues. I get mad and hurt myself horribly and almost made a hole in the wall. I talked to someone at church, and they said it sounded like bipolar I... I dont know if I should believe it or not and get checked.

Honestly, I don't know enough to diagnose a person. You can read about the symptoms yourself over here:

I would really suggest you find a therapist or psychiatrist to talk to who could help you work through this and keep you centered.

You can find some help locating a therapist here:

Why not take a few quizzes here at Psych Central and see if you fit into any particular area?

You might be depressed. A particular type does have you up and hopeful in the morning, but as you realize (think about) your life, it creeps over you. It's a good time to talk to someone who can help, before it becomes too dark.

Are you still in school? Even colleges have counselors you can talk with, and they often know a great deal about depression and how to help.

Hi,

Since we're not doctors we can't give you a diagnosis. I would srtongly suggest you go to the doctor and tell them everything you told us.

You said someone at church thinks it could be bi-polar. My brother had bi-polar so I know it well. His mood swings weren't on a daily basis. He would go for weeks sometimes where he would feel extremely down. Then he would go for weeks straight feeling high. His moods wouldn't fluctuate daily at all.

I think you should get help as soon as possible since you say you are likely to hurt yourself or someone else. Take care and feel better soon.

I do think you should get it checked, but you need a professional face to face opinion.

Best,

Clyde
