I am 19 and currently 5 months pregnant. I have been seeking pychiatric treatment since I was 13 and have been in numerous treatment facilities due to early suicide attempts.I have been out of treatment for about a year and off meds for 9 months. I am now 5months pregnant and it appears my symptoms are coming back even worse. I continue to have unstability and I'm unable to keep a job even though I'm really trying. I'm having increased paranoia and anxiety.I have experienced hallucinations recently which are new to me.I have been on numerous meds and treated for bipolar and deppression although never officially diagnosed. I am begginning to think I exhibit more borderline personality traits. I am concerned because I know it's to the point that I need help but I don't wanrt to go back on meds because I don't want my baby drugged up so I am not sure what to do.

lillybear, congratulations on the baby!

Now isn't the time to worry about having to go back onto medications to help you stay stablized. You do need to see a therapist though, imo, to help you get through all you are trying to handle. Pregnancy makes the sanest of women feel off kilter at times! The imbalance in hormones can really turn life upside down, and you need someone to help you get through what should be a wonderful time in your life.

best wishes

Congrats on the baby!

Yes, I agree with Jean. While normally I do not like people off medication, when you are pregnant is not a good time to get back on medication.

But you really do need to see a therapist so you can discuss these kinds of issues with him or her.

Best,

Clyde
