She is so sweet at times but then out of the blue she just losses it. She has pulled a gun on him, a knife beats him.
She does not only do this in their home but where ever they are. Like I sais she can be just fine for a week or two then it all goes off again. If a girl talks to him then she says he is trying to sleep with him. When she goes off like this it goes on for a couple of days then she is ok again.
She said she went to a Dr for this but they only asked her a couple of questions and told her there was nothing wrong with her. I really don't believe she went. Wouldn't they have done some testing?

They should have done blood work to check her iron levels, as iron deficiency can cause psychological disorders. The blood work would have tested for other things as well, but often if the doctor does not beleive it's serious, they will send you away empty handed. Do some research on bipolar disorder, personally I think the link below would be the most informative and trustworthy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bipolar_disorder
Also, don't let the doctor simply hand off medication because often times psychological disorders are simply prescribed anti depressants which may actually worsen symptoms of other psychological disorders. Do your research and seek a psychiatrist.

I would definitely have medical work checked firstly. Not to be unsupportive, but Wikipedia is definitely not the most trustworthy.
Check bipolar disorder at Psych Central Disorders, or check it from other websites. While the Wikipedia may be well written, it could have a lot of errors in it that would be worse than leaving it all alone.
And yes, do not just let him take meds, but DO realize that they probably will be a double dip of them and therapy.
