I went to a psychologist due to depression. After an evaluation she told me it was likely to be bipolar 2 disorder since I've had manic symptoms before. She referred me to a psychiatrist for a test in which a person's brainwaves control a car in order to tell if it is bipolar. I have never heard of such a test before and had been under the impression that there was no definative test for bipolar, and I can't find anything about it of the internet. Has anyone else heard about this type of test and if so does it work?

Have heard of brain mapping, where the drs scan/through an MRI type, and it shows where there are certain parts of the brain that are possibly short-circuiting,or it may show
great activity in certain areas,or less,in others-indcating
a pattern which may show drs if it is bipolar or other.
In any case, there is no pain involved..no reason to put off
making that appointment to see the psych dr.
My psych dr diagnosed me by just asking me certain questions, from a scientific test/ scoring, and jotting down my answers, and scoring me,accordingly;and came up with the total "equasion" of bipolar II for me.
