I have a friend who drinks to excess and i feel he is an alcoholic. He is also in the habit of telling outlandish lies at the drop of a hat. What is wrong with him and can anything be done for him? The behavior exhibited is unusual however it hasn't always been this way. Maybe he has some sort of chemical imbalance?

Why don't you try talking to him about his drinking without coming off as judgmental? Show him how it's possible to still have fun without drinking, even if it's a different kind of fun.

Good thoughts Edahn. Do you have any idea why he drinks so much and why he feels that he needs to lie?
Could any of this be related to his feelings about himself?
