My daughter was diagnosed with Bi-polar, OCD, ODD after she attempted suicide a little before she turned 14. She had severe manic episodes. Not so much as to destroy the house, but she was always angry, upset at the world, and very hateful to my family and I.
She got diagnosed with Hypoglycemia at the age of 16. The doctor said that based on what I told him, it sounds like that it has been progressing since she started puberty at around 13. That it wasn't something to notice until it got to the point it got.
But now, she is more depressed than manicy. Is it possible that she doesn't have bipolar anymore? She rarely gets into a manic episode, and if she does, she is only in it for 2-4 hours, compared to 2-4 weeks with depression. (We're still trying to figure out her meds.) Or is the hypoglycemia making it less likely that she will get into a manic state?

I dont think it is the hypoglycemia, I would think it may just be she has more mania than depression, which can happen in bipolar.
Have her doctor check it out.
