Go to school part time and take care of a kid. Have a three year relationship.
But, I have sever mood swings changes day to day, espeacially closer to menstrual it gets so bad that it switches min to hour, you never know, i say hurtful things to boyfriend, have little patientce, break things when I get this low. But also have days where I feel good, have been very impulsive in the past, when I want to go shopping i can't stop thinking about it. I don't get severe mania, but i have racing thoughts wich cause me to have anxiety, wich i used to take naps every day i have to the point even when I am tired I can't take naps cause of these racing thoughts, they give me very high anxiety, or could this be ptsd, I have horrible nightmares of being kidnapped, or shot. and have anxiety when home alone.

Hi,

we're not doctors or therapists here and even if were, we can't diagnose on-line. I think you should go to your family doctor to see if he/she could tell you, if this is psychological or physiological in nature. I would also go to your gynecologist and ask what are the newest treatments for pre-menstral syndrome -there is a severe form of PMS as well. Ask for a blood test to check your hormone levels.

I think now a days we're to quick to label mood fluctuations as Bi-polar etc. I don't know if it's popular or what, but alot of people are asking if they have it.

It sounds like you have a lot of resposibility in your life and I'm wondering if that's part of the problem - that you're not taking enough time to relax. Make sure you're eating healthy, exercising, enough sleep and try meditation with deep breathing exercises. It could be you just have bad case of pre-menstral syndrome. Some people make fun of it, but it really is a true medical problem and there are treatments for it. I have heard of women who more than half the month they are truly miserable and then fine the other half. Explore the physical causes first before you jump and label it Bi-polar. Good luck.

Honestly, you sound normal to me. I'm not saying there's nothing you can do to address some of your symptoms, but I would not think of this as bipolar, especially if you notice it bears a relationship to your menstrual cycle.

If you want to be sure, go see a psychologist, for a month so he/she can see you high and low and determine if it's anything that needs more aggressive treatment (medication). The way I see it, though, you're just coming to see how your mind and life work. It's never perfectly steady.

You could also look for ways to address your agitation and anxiety. There're books you can pick up at your local bookstore that deal with it. Jack Kornfield is one of my favorite Buddhist authors. Check him out. "A Path With Heart" is a great one by him.

It could be a lot of your PMS syndrome. I think checking with your doctor wouldnt hurt either.

Best,

I agree with Clyde... this sounds like it has it's roots in a physical cause. Seeing your medical doctor first and explaining what you just did for us is a good start. If you don't wish to take medications to help balance out the mood swings, try herbs which work quite well and are easy to purchase.

Don't put up with this situation. The longer your system is out of balance, the more it affects the other areas of your life, as you can see.

BTW some of us ARE Therapists and doctors here, just not medical doctors. ;)
