Well, I can understand and appreciate your wanting to protect your child. However, this is not so much your childs issue though, as it is hers.
You can help him best by talking to him about her and how she got to feeling suicidal.
You are the parent, and of course, you have the final say. But pulling him from his girlfriend may make it worse on the both of them--him and her.
No matter what you do, at least discuss this with your son, and see how he feels with things.
Committing suicide is not the best thing, no, but trying it is a call for help, not a call on weakness.
