My best friend is about to be 16 years old while i am 18. I am a senior in high school and this is already a rebellious year and everything is changing. I love hanging out with my best friend but my parents think that its weird for me to hang out with someone two years younger. My sister is in the same grade as my best friend and seems to be having trouble making and keeping her own friends which is starting to become a problem for me. My parents associate any rebellious behavior i have with my best friend and therefore they do not like her and want me to hang out with people my own age. I do not think the age matters because my best friend is a better influence because she does not drink or smoke like most of the kids in my grade.

I dont see anything wrong from it either from what you have told us.
You being 18, as soon as you are out of the house, too, you can have any friend you want.
Sometimes, parents see things we dont see, or the think that they see things that may not be there. They are probably doing this in your best interests.
Ask them why they feel that she is not good for you, and explain your position. Try not to let it get into an argument, but let it be a positive discussion.
Best,
Clyde

It amazes me how sometimes parents can either help build your own confidence and get skills to be a decent human being, or on the other hand destroy your hability to cope with everyday issues and confuss you, make feel like they own you, and you cant wait to get out of your own house..anyways, i wish your parents would sit down and talk to you, get involved..do they know what your favorite song is?? do they know if you prefer to be home and be yourself, or you rather go out and they trust you enough for you to come home and cant wait to tell them everything, youre so excited you cant even breath????????let me know, please, my name is Beatriz, ill be waiting...good luck! bye..
