When I was 18mons. and 2 years old, I was hospitalized for 2 separate reasons:The first for observation after falling down a flight of stairs (TBI)and being unconscious. The second because I stopped eating all together and was hospitalized for about a week. My mother was not allowed to visit me at all during the second event. Also, I was left behind at a picnic when I was 3, no one noticed I was missing until they got home...and wondered where I was.Is it possible to have suffered abandonment fears as a result? I have been afraid of my Mother my whole life up until her death. Trust problems, abandonment fears, and seemed to have blocked out my Mother in my childhood as a result, to protect myself. I have very poor self-esteem, suffer clinical depression (was suicidal), have self hate problems, self blame problems, etc. I need to understand.

Hi
so sorry for all you suffered as a child
I am not a doctor but it does sound to me like the childhood trauma could have resulted in the things you experience now
as you have diagnoses..are you still seeing your doctor/therapist for this? It really sounds like long term therapy would be beneficial to help you work thru and overcome. being able to open up and release all that you are holding inside would be very liberating and could help with your healing
maybe also consider joining the forums here as there are many caring members. Just click the button at the top right that says "community"
hoping things get better for you

Well, it definitely could, but I do think the first one might of been a little too early, but I do (can see) them as a precursor.
I hope you are still going to the doctor and can talk to them about this.
