I GET THESE PANGS OF FEELING VERY DEPRESSED AS I AM DISABLED AND HAVE A BAD BACK. I HATE THAT I CANNOT GO OUT AND GET A JOB. PLUS WHO WOULD HIRE A MAN WHO CANNOT SIT TOO LONG OR STAND TOO LONG. MY WIFE GOES TO WORK, MY SON TO SCHOOL AND I'M LEFT AT HOME ALONE STARING INTO WHITE WALLS.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ? I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START ? I WAS EMPLOYED FOR 25 YRS. TIL MY INJURY. I TAKE CYMBALTA AND IT HAS HELPED, BUT I DO GO INTO STAGES OF FEELING SO WORTHLESS. I KINDA ZONE EVERYTHING OUT AROUND ME WHEN I'M FEELING LIKE THIS. I DO PRAY ALOT AND TAKE MY MEDS. BUT BEING THE MAN OF THE HOUSE MAKES MY UNABILITY TO WORK EVEN WORSE. I LOVE MY FAMILY AND WANT THEM TO BE PROUD OF ME.

Hey bud,
I think maybe you could find something to entertain yourself at home. Maybe follow a proffesional sport or etc. that might help you get your mind off of it. Now if you worked for 25 years then you helped your family alot and did contribute. I think the hardest thing in life is to be able to move on from things, and i honestly do not know what it is to be like you, but i do believe you can find something to hold on to "metapohircally speaking".
Hope to hear from you soon,
Your Friend,
Misho

I applaud you for taking initiative and taking an antidepressant. However, antidepressants treat symptoms, not the problems. Drugs combined with cognitive therapy are the most successful way to treat depression. In this world that we live in now, it's doesn't surprise me that there are so many depressed people walking around. Half of them don't know they are depressed because it's been a way of life for them. You are dealing with self esteem issues and there should be no blaming yourself for what has happened. Please seek counseling or at least group therapy to get better. God bless you.

I too think that there are a lot of self-esteem issues.
I would recommend trying to find a therapist to either chat with you or one who could come in and see you at your home.
Your issue now is to find some way for them to get you there or them there to you so you can get to feeling better.
