How can one help them selves with depression? I am the most stubborn person you will ever meet and have never been good and sharing his feelings and ive always put walls up to people. Even my parents and family and it kills me. I started smoking buds junior year in highschool and now im a freshman in college. I love college but the pressures are to much for me. I wasnt planning on smoking in college but two kids that i roomed with are making it hard for that to go away. I am a good looking guy always had friends but nothing solid to fall back on. Tonight i took LSD and i realized what am i doing with my life? i feel like i hit rock bottom witha drug habit that no one knows i have because i have been that good at hiding it and keeping it in. Im in a civil engineering program, have a girl friend that im losing because of my lack of confidence, i cant focus in my classes and feel as if im dum and dont belong with these scholars that are in my classes. I feel like i'm not on there level and im only here because i was told college was the road to success. This may be true but either way i dont know why im here. I can not talk to my parents because i dont want to scare them because they have NO idea of my state. I live life day to day with out a care in the world. I have people who care about me but i dont and never have known how to communicate my thoughts and my feelings or emotions. I wanna solve these problems by my self because i dont have time to deal with the bullshit of rehab. Im more then that and i wanna save my self. I want to know how?

Hi
if you were able to help yourself you already would have!
Some people can help themselves quit drug use, but it sounds like you have underlying issues........
sometimes one needs others, especially professionally trained people, to get over life's hurdles
please please please dont take LSD again. It can have very serious and permanent impact on your brain!
my best advice is to see your college counselor or contact the clinic and make an appointment with the psychologist.
I know you expressed scorn for rehab, and it may be that you dont need it, but it sounds to me like you do need professional help to stop the drugs and work thru the underlying issues.
sure hope you will take that step to get your life back

Do you call it bullshit because you are more afraid of what you will find?
You really do need to quit the drugs, definitely the LSD.
You can at least talk to your college counselor. Please seek help now, dont you think you are worth it?
Best,
Clyde

I know how you feel. It's hard for me to share my feelings as well and it's hard but you could try to talk to your college counselor and share all the things going on in your life and all the problems you are having. It might help I know it's hard to do this and it could be difficult at first but it will help. You need to quit taking drugs thought it will hurt you in more ways ten you can realize. Please get help. Hope this helps.
