I'm always in a slight state of depression, feeling angry feeling overwhelmed or nervous. I do believe I know what is causing it and that is simply that I am 40 yrs old and have not yet found any skill that I'm good at, I hate my job but can't quit because I can't afford to look for another job without any skills and can't afford the time to go to school.
My personal problems show through as me having low self esteem and prevents women from being attracted to me and the lack of passion and companionship in my life adds to my depression. I'm glad to say I never feel the feelings of suicide, but I get to that point where I just hate everyone and everything in the world and I do realize it's not anyone's fault.
Since there isn't a miracle pill or any doctor that can give me a great job, a loving companion, a skill that I can enjoy and a reason for being, then what can I do?

I think the first thing is to love yourself. When you are able to truly love yourself, you will accept yourself as who you are and where you are at. It does not mean that you will then stay put and not ever achieve anything better. The acceptance will release if not most,at least some of your anger and depression. You could find many self-help books to read on this subject. You might also want to look into learning things like yoga, meditation, chi gong or tai chi. These activities could really help you be calm and at peace. If you are interested there are free meditation podcast available at Meditation Oasis. Believe me, when you are happy and at peace you will find a way to the kind of life you love. May you be Blessed.

I definitely agree that the first thing is to love yourself. You dont love yourself, at least like you need to do.
