I moved from my home to LA about a year ago. For the first few months everything was great. I met my boy friend, and my life was perfect. I had a great job, a car, everything. About five months in he got sick, and had to stop working so I paid the bills. He is better now but I am not. I am so depressed. I smoke weed or drink every day. I walked out on my job because I couldn't take it. Now, my car is broke down and is getting ticket, I'm about to lose my apartment, I have no energy, all becaue of this depression. I have tried to kill myself before, in high school, but it was nothing like this. I don't know what to do. I can't fix anything, and I don't even have the energy to try. I want to cry but can't, I want to cut myself but can't for fear my boyfriend will see it. It's like all I care about is either being drunk/stoned so I don't have to think about it anymore. I really think I am going to hurt myself. If I lose my car or my aprtment, I'm done. I couldn't take it. I know it is all my fault, letting the car get this bd, walking out on my job, I just couldn't do it. Everyday hurts too much to go on. When I was 18 they diagnosed me with Borderline Personality Disorder, I had a case manager but I just seemed to grow out of the depresion after high school, I went to work, kept my car, did everything I needed to. Now, it's like I have to have money to buy the weed/alcohol or I'm miserable. It's really scarring me because I have never been an addict, nor have I been this depressed. It hurts so much, physically and mentally. I just feel like giving up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? Or where I could get help in Los Angeles? I have no insurance, but I really really need some help, or I can see myself commiting suicide. Please help me, I have no where else to turn.

Sorry to hear no one has replied to you in four days.
You can call 1-800-SUICIDE which will help talk you through some bad feelings that you are having.
You can also check out www.apa.org for therapist locators, and also check your local phone book to see if there are counseling centers that are free or low cost.

meowmix, I hope you are going to return and reply here, I'm wondering how you are.
Alcohol and smoking weed can increase your depression. You're feeding the very thing you are trying to escape. :(
Have you called anyone locally to see what resources are available to you? The local hospital has a social worker who can assist you (without charge.)
Psych Central Answers is a place where people can ask and answer questions about mental health issues and relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
