Hi pinkfloyd85 :) I wouldn't think that it's a mental disorder, though your thinking does seem to be disordered eh? You might do well to simplify your life, as you may be running on empty all the time, pushing yourself at or beyond normal limits. I think also you might benefit from cognitive behavior therapy because using words like "never" and feelings things are only becoming worse are cognitive distortions that can be adjusted. CBT 10 common cognitive distortions are a good place to begin. You can find them at the top of the Psychotherapy Forum at psychcentral.com

Hi PinkFloyd85!
It is possible that your thinking, as Jean says, may just be disordered. Maybe you do need to simplify your life a bit, make it less restrictive?
The main thing to notice is how bad is it messing with your life?
If it is totally screwing up your life, nonstop, and you couldn't function--I would say seek help. But since I don't see how it is messing up your life completely, perhaps some better organization may help?
Best,
Clyde

Hi, Whether or not you would "qualify" for a mental disorder it DOES sound like you are very overwhelmed. I get like that sometimes, and it's no fun. From my perspective, it sounds like it IS negatively impacting your life, and you feel like it's getting worse. With that in mind, I would reccommend considering therapy BEFORE it gets to the point you where you "can't function." You may simply benefit from some help to sort it all out. A good therapist could help point you in the right direction and help you take some positive steps to improve the quality of your life, whether it be from CBT, lifestyle changes, or if there really is something more going on with you. (In my case, I DO have anxiety/depression and have found medication to be a part of managing it, but that may not be the case for you). So I believe life can be a lot better for you, but it may take time to break away from the old patterns. I wish you the best.
