My sister found out she was pregnant and one week later she lost the fetus. Her personal affect is pretty flat on a regular basis. How do I make sure that she isn"t bothered by the situation, since she had not had time to digest the idea ? She does not appear to be too upset. How and what can I do to make sure I can help her make this transition ?

Hi there Sunset,
You are very kind to her to want to help her if she needs it. Of course, that is what sisters/brothers are for, but it is so kind of you.
I would call her or talk to her and let her know you are here for her if she wants to discuss anything about it. Sometimes, grief takes a while to get to, other times, it takes a while to get over it.
Be there, be supportive of her, and let her know you will continue to be there for her, if she wants to talk about it.
Best,
Clyde

She might still be in shock from it all, but I think it will affect her at some point. In fact, I know it will. Please do give her support, and if you have faith, know that God has that child with Him in heaven.
The groups to contact are the same as though it was a still birth or spontaneous abortion. Best wishes

Sunset you are being a wonderful sister! I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of the baby. There are many support groups, even online http://www.missinggrace.org/LinksSupportGroups.html where she and you can find help.
