My therapist gave me a “Values Clarification†worksheet. I am supposed to rank a set of Values (Love, Forgiveness, Family, Work, Friendship, etc.) with a number from 1 – 17. I am having a lot of trouble ranking any of them. I feel they should all have a rank of 1. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to go forward with this work sheet.

Well, what do you think would make you a happy person if it was complete and in tact? Tell your therapist about your experience/difficulty filling it out when you finish. Give it some thought, though. It's a good exercise. It forces you to think about what being happy is, and how you PERSONALLY see it, rather than the way anyone else sees it.

Thanks for the answer. My issue (I think) is that I have screwed up so much of my life that I really do not know what would make me happy or complete. I will talk to my therapist about my problems filling out this sheet, if I am able to honestly complete it.

Exactly...which are most important to you?
Possibly, are there 17 items?
Best,
Clyde

Thanks for taking time to reply. Yes there are 17 items on the worksheet.
I do not know which is most important, I am relying too much on my past and having a hard time answering for the here and now.
