My wife left me in September last year. She has been suffering from depression for eight years on and off and things came to a head as we had moved to Spain and it all went wrong. She refuses to discuss things and pushes me away but then says that she really misses me and thinks of me fondly. She gives me things to read in order to help me understand her depression and seems to want my support but is keeping me at arms length. I still love her and want us to get back together but she has given me no indication of whether that is possible. How should I proceed

I dont mean this as a joke, but slowly. Let her come to you, as agonizing as it may be. This is about the only way you can do it, considering if she feels rushed or threatened, she will back in more, and you will be back where you started.

Best,
