You can have memory loss with ECT, yes. Headaches as well, and pain. Please consult your doctor immediately about this, as if the last time you had it was in October, you really need to seek treatment to help you feel better.

I agree with Clyde, that while these are results that ECT causes, you probably shouldn't be still experiencing them. I'm not a medical doctor; I would advise you to speak to someone about these symptoms!

Wow... I completely agree with both drjean and clyde, you need to seek medical (not psych) help with this issue, maybe a referral to a neurologist to rule out possible neurological damage due to the treatment , talk to your family doc about the continued symptoms of the treatment, they are physical in nature, so that would be where I'd start off and ask if a neurologist consult would be of help in your case.
Also, again, due to my feelings about ect treatments, I have to question the reasons why it was chosen for you, vs trying other therapy or alternative treatments...
unless you are legally committed and legally required to have ect or any treatment, you can refuse them. Seek second opinions, etc. Depending totally on your situation, dx, relationship with psych, etc.
I hope you can get this resolved quickly, keep us informed of your progress.

I used to work/run a post=psych group home, I had one client in her fifties who used to get ect every 18 months or so, it took months sometimes for her memory to come back, at one point she ended up completely incontinent, had to relearn how to use the bathroom and know when to go. It was so difficult to watch her go through this process, I feel for you. I hope that your psych has tried everything else before resorting to ect treatments, I personally (Im not medically trained, so this is only my personal opinion) believe it should be a last resort only.

I had ECT treatment, as a last resort, 3 years ago. I had 26 sessions (the usual is about 6). My short term memory is non-existent, although if I ell people that I have problems with my memory they think I am like everybody else and joking about it and are shocked when I explain. Some of my docs in the past have denied that there is a problem, or that it is related to the ECT but my current doc and nurse acknowledge it but there are no solutions other than hoping that over time it will improve. My long-term memory is good though- last week I recalled a bank account number in full that I closed about 10 years ago!!! I hope that you are able to find a resolution for yourself with these side-affects
