My 16 year old daughter is bipolar and has been on meds for several years now, with some tweaking the meds have for the most part worked very well to stabilize her moods. Recently I have seen a major increase in the level of aggressiveness, and rage. We have an apt to see her doctor next week but I fear that until she gets the help that is needed she may get upset and hurt herself or someone else. She has never had a physical fight, she is smart funny athletic. Her relationship with her father is very bad, so I get no support from him. I feel like I am alone in this battle and it is taking its toll on me as a parent. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than meds. What type of medication does work with teens in controlling rage who are bipolar?
Thank you for any suggestions that you can give

A person with bipolar disorder has to have medication. It could be that it needs to be tweeked again, and that is common. (Especially as she matures and her body chemistry changes.)
Keep talking with her, daily, and keep tabs on her until the doctor can help figure things out.
Good wishes

You could, if you had to, call the Doc up and ask for suggestions too...CBT may work, but it probably wouldnt have the time to work by then.
