Since birth to adulthood our sons body from the waist up becomes rigid lifts and slams down on the bed with his head slamming the bed. Occurs entering deep sleep and coming out of deep sleep. Laying on his back, his foot moves.
The banging pattern matches beat of heart.
Alcohol makes the banging much worse.

Judy, I'm not a medical doctor but this appears that it could be a seizure disorder. Other guesses are tourette's, or autism.
It's generally thought that children under 3 don't generate enough force to cause brain damage or neurological problems, but older people certainly can.
Please discuss this with him, and have him talk to his MD or a neurologist.
Good wishes

Hi Judy:
Yes, please have it checked out right away with a MD. It could be even more serious than it sounds (which is pretty serious).
He could cause severe problems by this issue, so its imperative that he gets it checked out soon.
