My son has seen therapists on and off for 13 years. We thought he had depression, but he makes irrational, compulsive decisions and is always derailing himself. He has been contacted twice on MySpace by girls saying they were over 18 when they weren't. He even told the police who he was waiting for believing she was over 18. Now he faces jail time. He will not survive. He is small and a very shy, timid, depressed person. I fear for him. He just doesn't think right. I looked at personality disorders and the Avoidant and Borderline symptoms almost fit him to a tee. Where do we go from here? Is there any help for him when it comes to the law?

Well, Willow, I am sorry to hear this, but one thing to do would be to contact a psychologist/psychiatrist immediately who could help testify for him in court, or deal with his lawyer.
I am sorry to hear about your worries about your son, but this is about the only thing I could think about when it comes to this kind of issue, especially if he already is being prepped for jail already.

That sounds just like me as a teen. It took lots of therapy and a few short jail scares until i was diagnosed with bipolar type 1 only three years ago and i'm 29 now. i'm a lot better with therapy, psych and proper meds.
