I consider it the middle age in which one estimates he/she will live. Myself, I hope to live to be 100 years old . . . ideal middle age is 50 years old. Of course, if I go by my inherited genes, most likely I won't live any longer than my grandparents who all died at early ages . . . actual middle age is 40 years old.

Thanks Bliss...see thats my problem, though...since none of us know how old we will live, its hard to measure the mean of the chronological age of our lives...
I wouldnt mind 50 being my mean, either... ;)
I have read 30 and up...mostly 35 and up.
Thanks!

Hate to admit it to myself but it is probably in the mid 40s. There is a certain connotation that in middle age you start to slow down. Well let me tell you, I'm much more busier and productive then ever. I'd rather they start calling this period "mid-life" because of the growth and introspection that humans go through at this time.

Thanks so much Chahinet...I think it probably is at least 40 myself...its not so much an age thing with me. It is more or less the idea of I just am curious about when I would enter it.
Why would people create things and then change them, or give them a range? Why can't they be specific ;) ?
Thanks,
Clyde

LOL I just watched the special about living to 150! Long life runs in my family, so 50 would easily be middle age for me, but now, with this new information... that would make 75 middle age!
Sorry if I made light of a serious issue for you. I guess it depends upon your reason for worrying about it. If it's for how much money you need for retirement, or what types of issues you should expect and accept, then it might be good to have numbers to compute. But since not everyone goes through a middle age crisis, if you aren't suffering, then move onward. If you are suffering, then seek help to cope and understand, then you will feel more like moving on and living the best life you can.
