He could have anger management issues, especially when it comes towards you. Do the two of you spend a lot of time together? I imagine you do, but just wondering.
Also, he may be "used" to you, which doesnt make it right, but it does happen. People are more likely to grouch/gripe at those they love/care about, then they are people they don't know.
You may just have to sit him down and communicate with him. To let him know how it is bothering you. If he doesnt decide to change sooner or later, you may have to just quit the relationship if it continues to bother you this much.
