Does everyone have someone that cares about them or loves them? I really can't remember the last time my dad said I love you. I'm not sure if he just doesn't say it or if he actually doesn't love me. It's just I really feel like no ones cares/loves me. I feel like my friends and people I know that I have ruined there lives in someway.

Well I can't speak for everyone but I hope most people feel that someone loves or cares about them. Just to let you know, we care about the people who write us here!! I don't think you should beat yourself up in thinking that you ruined their lives because we're all responsible for our own lives and how we react to circumstances. What do you think you've done wrong?
You sound like you're very sad. How about you say "I love you" first to your Dad and see what he says in return. One thing I've realized in life is to ask for what you want and need. Another good thing to remember is don't assume things about other people. It might be possible that your dad wasn't raised in a family where they said I love you alot - some men also have a hard time opening up - this is why I suggested you say it first. I have feeling that you need to work on your self esteem and not feeling so guilty about other people. Best of luck - hugs, Bella

I totally care and understand how you feel. I spoke to my dad the other night for his birthday. I always say "I love you" before I hang up the phone but he has never said it back before. He actually did say it back this time. He loves you though! And the rest of the family pretty much wrote me off a couple of years ago when I got sick and ruined all their lives by being damaged goods. They have even cancelled holiday get togethers the past two years so that they don't have to deal with it. Take care!
Hi. I do not know if you have depression, only a qualified medical or psych doc can tell you that. But as for me, I know sometimes my depression tells me lies that no one loves me or no one cares or everyone hates me. But it is not true. It is the depression and the sadness that fuels the isolation which tells me that. I think there are people who care about you but sometimes you might have trouble feeling it. I care about you and I am sorry you feel so bad and so alone. I hope you start feeling cared about soon. All my best. Junie

It does definitely sound like you have depression to me, however; please see a face to face medical professional who can validate what is going on with you.
There are also some tests at psych central you can take to see if you are depressed, such as this link:
Psych Central Answers is a place where people can ask and answer questions about mental health issues and relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
