Any time I hang out with any girl that I'm friends with or if I hug them or any kind of physical contact I get an erection. I cant seem to keep it from happening I'm not really attracted to some of the girls. I just think of them as friends but for some reason it still happens. It has really messed me up at two of my dances while taking pictures with my dates and it showing on the photos. It's embarrassing to try and cover it up while people are around me. Soon I will be going to swimming parties and I know that I cant cover it up just wearing shorts without them noticing. is there ANY possible way that I can make it not happen or prevent it from happening?

One thing you can do is try and come up with creative, sneaky ways to cover it up. I told the poster in the above thread to point it upwards and make sure his shorts are long enough to cover it up.

I'm sure it'll calm down when you get a little older and your hormones settle a bit. You could also try getting some exercise in a few times a week and see if that has some effect.

Most of all, don't worry so much about it. If you can, try and see it as something humorous. It's really nothing to be ashamed about. Your "guy" is just having a little fun with you right now. :)

I have the same problem, and usually i get it during school, and even when im not thinking anything sexually or anything like that, it happens and I get so afraid someone will see. Im not sure what to tell you for this, but just to let you know it happens to all of us, and it is just life.

well its just that my friends aren't really the time to just laugh it off or anything it'll kinda freak them out and I didn't want it to plus now-a-days teenagers are such idiots about things they take EVERYTHING sexually and twist it in the worst possible ways.

You can still laugh and smile about it even if your friends aren't ready yet. The truth is, if you're really confident about it being normal, not a big deal, and maybe slightly funny, your friends will follow.

For now, I think the best thing is to try and find ways to point it up without looking too awkward. You can just say "sorry, my boxers are all bunched up," turn away so they can't see (which will be expected and even polite), and adjust it to point upwards, even BEFORE you give a hug or start dancing. You can also go to a water fountain and do it all there.

ok but at a swimming party all I got are swim shorts (actually basketball shorts) on and....I'm not exacly small so it showes even if I point it up because it will push outward and make it look weirder. Is tere any kind of pills or anything that could help? I know its natural causes and stuff like that I just don't want it to happen cause it will make life alot harder on me

No the doctor would not give you pills for this - usually it's the opposite problem that guys are anxious to get pills for. You wouldn't want to mess with a normal sex drive. I don't know if this is a good idea or not - but how about you wear a spandex like speedo(no one would see it) underneath swimming shorts and that might hold it down. If it happens then just dive in the water and hopefully it's cold- and guys know what cold water does- problem solved at least temporarily. TC :)

lol dont worry im not like mentaly unstable with it or anything i got it all under controle i dont like just start random fires when ever or burn other people or animals or myself u just like 2 experament with it and try diffrent things and i always make sure im in a safe area before blowing anything up

hi, i'm sorry you're having this problem. i'm a boy and i've also had this problem horribly! and like you, I'm not small, so 'pointing it up' did NOT help. i finally figured out two sure fire ways to stop it, no matter where i was. one is permanent. and the other will stop it. I'll start with the immediate one. when you go to a dance or party. or even the lake/pool/whatever, excuse your self and go to the bathroom. once there. make your self get an erection and put it 'between' your legs. but make sure to pull your 'other' parts out of the way. or else you'll pinch them and that hurts like hell. now, once it's between your legs, the downward pressure will cut off the blood flow physically and it''ll go away within seconds. learn to walk with it 'in-between' and you'll never get one. number two, will make it so you'll never have to worry about it at all. it might be hard for you, or even not for your case at all. but the very first thing you should do is STOP masturbating. and/or watching porn. the less you do those two activities, then the less active your parts will be. if you're masturbating regularly, then your parts are very active. if you stop, then they go dormant, and only come out when needed. now believe me, it's NOT easy to stop. but it IS a quick fix to unwanted erections. it takes every one a different time. but if i go from masturbating twice daily, then stop. in a week and a half, i virtually NEVER get unwanted erections. combine these two ways, and it'll be over very soon. but, it takes dedication. and number one is very uncomfortable. but i guarantee they will work. good luck.

yeah i have this same problem i get about an arection everytime i see a hot girl with an big butt bent over.I usually have it faced faced up in my pants and sometimes i take a deep breath and i keep doing it but at the same time i usually act like i am fustrated at someone hope this helps

I've had this problem ALOT. From what I've heard it mostly happens during puberty. It should settle down eventually, but in the meantime what you CAN do is when you think it'll happen, try to think of the most disgusting thing in your life, or a REALLY hard math problem. If it's already straight, tension your rear thigh muscles and that'll draw the blood away from your "guy".

A good trick that ive always used is to hold your breath as soon as you feel an erection about to come on. the longer you hold it in, the faster oxygen begins to leave the blood stream, and immedeatly you will defuse the problem;)

what to do is tense your stomach or bysepts or both, this will take the blood eles where.. try any type of work out for 10 or 20 seconds if u can it helps
