Hi there K12!
Lots of times, sleep issues are because of major stressors in our lives. Do you have a lot of stress going on? You mention too much thinking too--which may be OCD--have you thought about getting any of this checked out by a MD or therapist?

K12, yes, sleep is a good thing to have. You would benefit from a sleep routine that doesn't change night to night. Have a set bedtime and keep to it. Prior to bed, make notes of the things on your mind, of things to do the next day etc. Have a calming drink (nothing caffeine) and maybe sit for a bit and read a book or listen to some calming music. Whatever the routine, it needs to pretty much stay the same so that your body/brain realize "Ah... k12's getting ready to go to bed and sleep."
