Above all things, I have notice that I benefit from individualism and isolation from others. I recently turned 18 years old, and since my Junior year in High School I have been attending a school fundamentally built for independent study. I do prefer to study alone, nonetheless, I don't entirely mind lending a helping hand now and then. Whether that has any relevance to my question, I don't know.
Around the age of 15 I began to place myself in my own "solitary confinement", if you will. Lately though, I noticed that have began to lack certain emotions. For instance, I am neither bored nor am I satisfied, I am neither depressed nor at peace, neither happy nor concerned, etc. etc.. I guess I am somewhat void. But two things that I am sure of are that I am confused and that I can become angry, though it is never extreme. Also, I do remember my emotions, so I know how to act during certain situations.
I don't enjoy being around my family and there are no people I know whom I consider friends. Although, I do find myself comfortable talking to people within the age group of 40-90 years. Additionally, I have no desire to date anyone, let alone any sexual desires.
I believe in no god, nor do I believe in the Theory of Evolution. I consider these figments of the human mind. I find interest in theoretical subjects, but I never believe them to be absolute.
I wonder, "What triggered this?", "Why did this happen?", and "Is there something wrong with me that I should be concerned about?" I thought these questions might as well be shared just in case they begin to pester me or drive me insane.
I have done my fair share of research, and the only thing I have found, that has some sort of accordance with me, is Schizoid Personality Disorder.

Hi
Are you are satisfied with your life as it is? Or does it trouble you to be like this.
if the latter then it really would be a good idea to discuss all this with a qualified professional who can help you identify possible reasons and help you work thru the issues.
we cant diagnose here, but hopefully others who may have more insight into what you describe can give more info for you

Hi there,
I hate that you dont believe in a God, but I still will tell you, that you really need to ask yourself a question before we could even help you.
Does it (your feelings) hurt you or help you? If they help you, that is great, if not, I would recommend talking to a therapist, so you could get help.
Psych Central Answers is a place where people can ask and answer questions about mental health issues and relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
