Okay, so i've had the same doctor since i was 10 weeks old and he just left for Minnesota. I'm a young teenager and not amused by the switch, considering my doctor is really confusing! I went to see her a few weeks ago and she was looking at the meds i was on and then switching them up! So i'm taking more of one thing and less of the other and its so confusing! I liked the way things for were before, and i felt fantastic before and i don't think anything needed to be changed! Ugh, what should i do? I'm so confused!

Hi BPG!

Welcome back...

Could you talk to this new doctor and let them know you dont wanna change at the moment? How many times has the new doctor met you before they decided to switch you?

You basically have to be your own best advocate. Let them know why you feel you shouldnt be switched on to other meds.

Explain to them how well you have been doing since the meds...print out all your answers stuff and show them how much you have changed since you have been on here!

I think by speaking up for yourself, it could help.

Best,

Clyde

Hi BPG,

I understand it must be difficult getting used to a new doctor. I agree with Clyde, you and your Mom should talk it over with the new doctor about the medication change and why she did this. What does your Mom say - since she's a psychologist, she must have an opinion? I also agree you should also speak up for yourself and ask questions. I hope school is going well for you. All the best, Bella :)

My Mom is unsure of the new doctor, but she told me that if things don't go well on the new meds that we will explain this to the new doctor and switch back. I've only had one appointment with my new doctor, and it was last Friday.

One another note... School is going very well! I'm much happier now. Thank you for answering. :)
