Have both experienced and heard from other family members about inappropriate behavior by the husband, including getting very drunk and hitting on men.
After such incidents continuing drinking and entering a state of near catatonia, then denying when approached by the male subject that the event ever took place.
We know the sex life of the couple is terrible.
We feel we are being dishonest not letting the woman know what we know, but are conflicted about butting in and are concerned about their young children.

Yes, it is probably the best for the husband to let the wife know.
Although, it depends on how you are related to the client as well.

Aside from some anecdotal evidence, you have no idea what is going on with this couple during their private lives. His sexuality may be something they are already discussing with the therapist, or perhaps, as it seems, he was just really drunk and may not even remember what happened. His drinking may be on their agenda as well. You care for the couple, but you are being nosy at a time when they are already working on problems with a professional - they don't need you stirring the pot with what you may or may not "know" about him.
