Can someone change their moods quickly with only one person in their life to be classified as having Borderline Personality Disorder or does that person's moods generally change when around anyone or everyone?

My 14 yr old son becomes very angry destroying doors and putting holes in walls of his room while using foul language. He can go for mos. without doing this or do it 4 or 5 xs in same mo. Happens when smokes pot etc & can't get more. Thinks our rules are stupid but is very polite to others & never acts this way. Defiance or Bipolar nos by choice?

How do you cope living with someone with these disorders and who is an alcoholic? This is such a rollercoaster ride for me & I need help. He's always pushing me away & telling me to leave, and is not on his meds consistantly.

Lately, my moods have very little middle ground. I am either very hopelessly depressed & avoidant, all is useless, or I am on top of the world & manic. However, this occurs day to day, not over periods of weeks like I've been told bipolar disorder does. Also, my friends are dwindling as I somehow isolate myself. I no longer "fit in" anywhere.

My doctor wants me on meds for bipolar which I refuse to take because I AM NOT CONVINCED I HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER! I just enjoy life a little too much sometimes.

I have a friend who drinks to excess and i feel he is an alcoholic. He is also in the habit of telling outlandish lies at the drop of a hat. What is wrong with him and can anything be done for him? The behavior exhibited is unusual however it hasn't always been this way. Maybe he has some sort of chemical imbalance?

I am not sure if my boyfriend is bipolar. He is very moody, always tired, and very negative. In the past he has talked about killing himself, sarcastically but very frequently. Lately he has been increasingly verbally abusive and will curse at me at to the point where he scares me. He used to be on anti-anxiety medication but is no longer on them.
