I have major depressive disorder.
Why is it that my brother who abuses drugs has a place to go for weeks at a time to learn how to function and cope with his "illness"?
Is there such a place for depressed people?
I know psych wards are basically a 72 hour sham, and really don't help people in my situation much.

We have talk about this before telling him that this really bothers me, but even that is less he continues doing it. It has ruin good moments, sometimes I prefer not to say anything to avoid problems. Any input in how can I handle this situation?

My therapist seen me has seen me two times in three months. Then one day out of the blue I received a phone call to see a psychologist for meds. Which I did ask for. I have anxiety and have a hard time just talking. I have some others issues including alcohol but I just could not tell her. Is she testing me or what?

I, my girlfriend, and her two kids just moved from Louisiana to Nevada last month. A few weeks before we left, we found out she was pregnant. We have been seeing each other since November '07, and moved in together January '08. During that time she had been diagnosed as Bipolar. im 15 & ive noticed that I do lots of weird things. it's always little things, like if I take more steps on one leg they feel uneven, and i do little skips to get them even again. i often count my steps. especially going up or down stairs. i color order my closet. when i see stacked objects they have to be in order by size & im always making list

My son is 21 years old. He has had behavior problems for the past 15 years. It started as a child not being able to keep his hands to himself (hitting other kids, grabbing their arms, etc). He would not listen to anyone. He then went to stay with his grandparents who had no control over him at all. I thought the change would help but it didn't.
