There are times when I go up to 5 days without taking my effexor (b/c of a physical problem). I have the brain zaps but more worryingly are the anger issues I have. Could this be a part of the withdrawal process or is this a sign that I am nowhere near ready to come off it? I started out on 375mg 3 years ago and reduced to 300mg 1 1/2yrs ago. I am not normally a very angry person, but it becomes an out-of-control rage over the littlest thing, and then subsides after I restart the meds.

Well, it seems that you are decreasing them slowly. Have you talked to your T about this?
Does your strength of dosage increase each time you restart, or is it always at 375?
Your T and you should be able to set a plan to slowly withdrawal, and that is perhaps what is going on--at least that is what it appears to me their thoughts are.
Your best bet is to check with the T to see if you need to increase or decrease.
Best of luck...

Thanks Clyde. I am on 300mg now (not 375mg) and go back to 300mg each time I have had to restart. It is not my Ts intention to decrease me anytime soon, and when I am taking it regularly things are pretty good. It is just in those few days occasionally that I cannot take it when things go haywire. I guess that is why I am wondering if it is linked to withdrawal or shows that I still rely very heavily on these tablets.....
