In the documentary, "The Bridge," a film about folks who jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge in the space of one year, it was mentioned that only 4 percent of people who attempt suicide try it again after the first attempt. Apparently, most people find a new perception of their situation or a new reason to live. I was wondering about this because death is so damn unforgiving.

I've already tried it twice over the past few years and I still want to die. It makes me mad that I'm forced to stay alive and that I can't even kill myself right. In fact, I'd love to die right now if I could. So no, I don't think wanting to die ever goes away. Pain is pain and time and suicide attempts do not change that.

Depression is a medical disorder that is quite curable. Many people, after attempting suicide, finally get the attention and professional help they need, thus they don't try again.
Depression doesn't go away on it's own. If feeling desperate, seek the help you need. Don't try to get through this darkness by yourself.
Personally I will say yes I have attempted this a few times about 4 years ago. After about the third try I realized that maybe someone didnt want me to go just yet and wait a while. After the next few years things got a lot better even though I am faced with some health issues, I dont think suicide is ever the answer.
Suicide is when it feels like its the only solution, and it does feel like it sometimes, but it is also perminant and not something to try. Not everyones life is perfect, but there are ways to deal with problems and stress.
Rough times are bad, but it also makes us stronger when we learn to deal with them and solve them the right way and not give up! I wish you the best of luck, and remember no matter how you feel...no one...no one wants you to do that to yourself, and there are many people out there that will help you through it.
Take care!!

Hi Studebakerjones...
I really hope that you do find out that death is so damn final too. You really must be going through some horrible stuff at the moment. I hope it gets so much better for you.

I really hope you see, that life is worth the living. Even when it sucks, it can always be worse.
