I have the following Diagnosis: Bi Polar,PTSD,Osteoarthritis, Brain Tumor Surgery Recovery,I am trying to start dating again and all the Medical issues seem to be in my way, I'm trying to get past the fear of just asking someone out I have 2 years in recovery and I have been divorced for almost 4 years now and I have not go on a date I have been busy trying to put my life back together, I was homeless and I just got into veterans grant housing this past June in my on apartment have a roommate and she is my best friend, She is dating and I feel like I am left out. I go To a MISA VA group once a week and I have a case manger there who helps me.I don't have any real friends other than my roommate and I have problems getting around because of the Pain if I take the pain medications I cant drive and if I do go somewhere I can only stay out for a few hours. I was already stressed out Friday I went to get a haircut and I think I left my wallet there I have looked everywhere here and I will call them Monday 10th of Dec. I pray that it is there I will have to have My Case manager help in getting the lost items back my ATM Card no Visa logo, Drivers Licence, Social Security Card, VA ID card, This was almost too much for me to deal with if I hadn't had Melissa my roommate here we help each other out. when we are going through tough times but we are just best friends. I need someone in my life besides her and my case manager. Both of them agree that I need to date and get out of the house I wont go alone to eat or to a movie. My whole social life has fallen apart. And I dint know what to do?My case Manager asked me if I knew anyone to ask to a movie and I told her no. I do go to AA meetings but I just started back to those I was going to NA for the last 6 moths or so. I need help with this I can give you my case managers email if you need it let me know she knows my background.

Thanks for replying back, I was interested also in how things turned out.
It's difficult for practically everyone to build new relationships. We all become set in our ways, and locked into our patterns of living. It takes breaking out of those secure and often mundane choices to find those outside of them, in my opinion (imo.)
To find new friends, or make good relationships, what I've found is that you have to be pretty complete and happy within and with yourself. Keep working on who YOU are, and what makes YOU a better person. Then, when you don't NEED someone, you just might find THE someone who adds to all your own goodness!

I did forget to mention in the other post...I do hope you get your wallet back...but if you dont soon, be sure to call those places where you got your bank card (or visit them) and cancel it all so no one runs up all your information and gets your stuff...

Yes some one from the Apartments Office brought it to me but I had already canceled my bank card so I will have to wait for a new one and I got a new drivers licence but I needed to change theb adress anyway on it
